Under Yggdrasil crohn 2009 met professionals from industry / government and representatives of educational institutions together to find out what is required of tomorrow's interaction designers, information architects and usability experts. There are currently a number crohn of different educational crohn institutions in Norway providing educations in these areas. It is important that these diplomas at any time targets in relation to the specific needs of competence in Norwegian business and management. To do diplomas current crohn and relevant, it is necessary to have continuous feedback on the courses of study of the students' future employers. Day Svanæs and Ole Andreas Alsos therefore invited experienced individuals from business and management to give their recommendations on what Norwegian educational institutions should teach their students in the future. With contributions by including Thor Fredrik Owning and Jostein Magnussen (Netlife Research) (see picture above) described the workshop participants the perfect colleague thus: They burn for convenience: They have a huge beating heart for ease of use and a high level of usabilityhormon in the body. It is a trait that can be difficult to learn, yet very important for an interaction designer. They can draw: The Perfect Friend mastered the art of drawing on paper. They dare to use the pen, and dare to scribble a little on the sheet to explore solutions. They need not be a Picasso (it need not be pretty) but it is important to be confident with pen and paper. Interaction design is a craft and an interaction designer must have it at your fingertips. They can blog: An interaction designer should crohn know what a publishing solution is. They must be familiar with the fines of commercial tools used by Norwegian companies (such as WordPress, EPiServer). It is also advantageous to have seen the back of a publishing system. They can present: They have held presentations and is comfortable with speaking in front of people. They are good to get out a message (as a consultant do it all day) and powerpoint is their best friend. They can concept crohn development: They understand the importance of prototyping and concept development. They have created something that has been tested. They may use the analysis: Knut Rolland (Avenir) believe that they must have a large toolbox with a wide range of methods to gather information about users and their needs, and commercial processes in the organization. It applies not only to classical methods using tests and interviews, but they have been out to made observations and ethnographic studies. They also understand what the different methods are not prisoners, their strengths and weaknesses. They can plan and execute user tests: They know usability testing method in detail and has been to plan, execute and analyze usability tests. They can be basic programming: they can basic HTML, CSS and Flash. They need not be any topprogrammerer, but must be able to see the code as something more meaningful than a random collection of characters and spaces. They are creative, they are very creative - within the framework of the project, technology or organization sets. They have business experience: crohn They've been out in the real world and have become "dirty fingers" through summer jobs or "internships" in companies. Master Theses and similarly rooted in real projects - not deep, narrow and theoretical topics. They can collaborate: Ram Yoga (Steria) crohn believe that they must be able to work with everyone in the project organization, especially with developers. They can sell the usability: Interaction Designers must be good at highlighting their own needs. Bjorn Tennøe crohn (Fast) highlights the importance of being able to sell itself. He points out that the Norwegian industry largely produces raw material and are not trained to acquire design expertise. The industry requires education in why they need interasjonsdesignere and how to use them. Ram Yoga (Steria) believes that interaction designers need to light a spark with ease developers - they must evangelize field. Also, interaction design come as a natural part of the developers' education. They have expertise in usability: Gautam Ghosh (Tax Administration) notes that interaction designers need to be "sharp". They are often considered generalists that can be used anywhere. It can quickly undermine their position crohn and their enthusiasm when they do not get to use their skills other than when there is room for it. There is always room at the start of a project, so removing the need because of lack of resources. It can be frustrating for many and they give up fighting.
